Luis Mena Martínez es Profesor Contratado Doctor adscrito a la Facultad de Geografía e Historia. Doctor en Sociología por la Universidad de Salamanca. Actualmente dirige el Máster Oficial en Servicios Públicos y Políticas Sociales. Anteriormente ha ejercido su labor docente y/o investigadora en la Universidad de La Laguna, el Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas y el Consejo Económico y Social del Estado. Es docente de las asignaturas de Sociología de la Facultad de Geografía e Historia, y de Metodología Cualitativa en la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales. Sus líneas de investigación prioritarias son las políticas públicas, el estudio de grupos vulnerables, la sociología urbana y la sociología de las relaciones de género.
